About the Foundation
The Soloviev Foundation is the charitable giving arm of the Soloviev Group, dedicated to supporting the efforts of those working across humanitarian, environmental, and educational causes.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple and intentionally broad: to help make a better world. We pride ourselves on the diversity of our partners in this work. The Foundation’s gifts go to both large, long-established institutions addressing global crises and concerns, and smaller, hyperlocal organizations serving the populations in need within their communities.
Our Process
Our process and criteria for determining the recipients of Soloviev Foundation gifts are straightforward. We identify a need that aligns with our values and seek out the nonprofit organizations best-suited to address that need most effectively and which can make the largest impact. While all causes are considered in our giving plan, we are especially committed to supporting at-risk children, promoting values in society, and encouraging social responsibility.
Philanthropic Initiatives
The Gallery & Collection
The Soloviev Foundation is pleased to share its collection with the public for the first time in more than 20 years. Collection highlights include works by Alberto Giacometti, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Henry Moore, and many other significant artists.
Selections from the Collection
Beyond making its collection accessible to the public, The Soloviev Foundation is also committed to engaging with contemporary artists, supporting emerging curators and scholars, and developing educational programs.
Gallery Exhibitions
On the ground floor of the Soloviev Group’s iconic 9 West 57th Street office tower, The Soloviev Foundation Gallery presents rotating exhibitions that draw from its expansive collection. An inaugural display of collection highlights featured pivotal Cubist works by Pablo Picasso, a milestone of Henri Matisse’s Fauvist period, a bold work by Jean-Michel Basquiat and more. The current exhibition, something you cannot hold, gathers collection artworks alongside photographic work by four contemporary artists and creates a sequence of dialogues across eras and media, often centering the agency of artistic and non-art materials. This February, the foundation also shares a selection of African and African diasporic artworks: photographs by James Van Der Zee visualizing Black life in Harlem in the early 20th century and sculptural works from continental Africa. This display anticipates a forthcoming engagement with the foundation’s African collection, Between Distance and Desire, opening this spring.
